Achievements as Citizen Scientist :- Citizen science: Have been a coordinator for IASC, training and leading more than 100 teams a year, for more than 12 years, on behalf of SPACE India and STEM & Space. I have led students in other citizen science projects such as Asteroid Day (as India coordinator), Globe at Night, Sally Ride EarthKAM. I have conducted Eratosthenes Activity for measuring the Earth with students at public locations such as Jantar Mantar. In fact, was part of the calibration of Barapullah sundial. Have participated in astronomy outreach as a teacher at Nehru Planetarium. Have given many public lectures including at Nehru Planetarium, 1st Astronautics conference at Brazil (invited speaker), Global Hands on Universe (gave a talk about this citizen science group_, and in schools and media in UAE. Have conducted large public observations (more than 1000 people) for eclipses and Venus Transit at Jantar Mantar and India Gate. Won IAU funding for the project Sky on a Bike, to take a telescope on a bicycle on rural areas to communicate astronomy. Won Giant Mars and Moon maps from Buzz Aldrin Foundation, after submitting a proposal. Media: Have been part of news media panels as an expert on space topics. I am a regular columnist writing a monthly explainer and column on Astronomy and space in Hindustan Times Next.
